What decides your garage floor coating price
There is no honest per-square-foot number that can be quoted before somebody has looked at your slab. Two garages of identical size routinely price differently, and these are the reasons why.
- Slab condition. Scaling, oil contamination or a previous coating all mean a deeper grind before anything goes down.
- Moisture reading. A high reading means a mitigating primer, which is a real line item. A low one means it is not needed.
- Crack and joint work. Chasing and filling is priced by linear metre, not by floor area.
- System choice. Epoxy, polyaspartic and metallic are different materials with different labour profiles.
- Edge-to-area ratio. Edges are cut by hand. A narrow townhouse bay costs more per square foot than an open double.
